about the vineyard
The vineyard is located on the territory of the municipality of Bačka Topola along the road which connects Sombor (distance 29 km) and Bačka Topola (distance 15 km) on Telečka plateau at the altitude of 120 m above sea level. This land is characterized by high quality soil which is why fertilizers are not required.
In the past, from the 17th to 20th century, Bačka loess plateau was a famous vineyard region where hundreds of hectares of land were covered with vine. However, world wars and increased agricultural production, which required more land for cultivation, caused vineyards to completely disappear from that area.
In the area of past vineyards, new modern vineyards were built but on considerably smaller territory. The largest vineyard on the territory of Telečka plateau was established in 2008 (5.5 ha) and 2009 (5.5ha), covering the total area of 11 ha. Wine production was based exclusively on the grapes from those vineyards which had a total of 60 thousand grapevines. The cultivars selected by clonal selection made by famous producer Rauscedo (VCR) were planted and those are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Rhine Riesling, Tramini, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
The first harvest was in 2011 with controlled low yield of grapes per grapevine of up to 1.5 kg.
